Autumn Quilting with a Machine

Workshop/ Course Description

6 sessions, a fortnightly Class. Starting on Tuesday 3rd September 2024 9.30am - 1pm Week 1 (3rd) Understanding Needles, Thread, Wadding, Fabrics & the effects these all have working together for the results you need. Creating Samples using our walking foot & 'Other feet'! I will cover how stitch length and decorative stitches can have an effect on your patcwork & overall design. Week 2 (17th) Introduction to Free Motion Quilting. Checking tension, and a quick reminder of maintenance. Wadding is notoriously fibrous & particles create havoc if not cleaned regularly.. We will touch on 'Quilting with colour' and quilt patterns in a sampler. Week 3 (1stOct) This week we will concentrate on Patterns & Designs by working to a grid. By marking a grid on your fabric it is easier to create symmetrical patterns. This could be anything from clamshells, flowers, leaf shapes or simple geometric designs. Week 4 (15th) Spirals... Controlled & Freeform! Week 5 (29th) Feather designs. Block, Boarder & Free Style Week 6 (12th Nov) Quilted Pictures. This is where you could argue that it's machine embroidery! I will give you some inspirational hand outs - Coastal, Jungle - Landscape etc.

PLEASE READ TERMS AND CONDITIONS Thanks for your interest in Studi0ne! We look forward to having you on one of our classes. We can offer a refund for your booking for 70% of the cost of the workshop, (less 30% for administration) if your cancellation is more than 14 days in advance, After 14 days & before 7 days this will be 50%. If you need to cancel less than 1 week before the class you will loose all your booking costs. If you book a course & miss a day this is non refundable. With this in mind we do offer however a chance for you to book onto another date of the same class for half price. This offer is valid for 6 months form time of cancelation. Alternatively, you could opt for a friend to go in your place, just let us know the name of your elected replacement!
